Will Riverside Court Ever Get A School Bus Stop

There has been much discussion on the topic of bringing a school bus stop to the Riverside Court community.  It also appears to have become an issue in the upcoming Riverside Court condo association board member election.  In this article, I am going to outline what has to happen in order for a school bus stop to be added to the Riverside Court community.

The current mayor, as well as the previous mayor have both been contacted more than once regarding this issue.  Both noted that it is an issue and both stated that the town is not currently in a position to spend the required funds due to the current economic climate and the town’s current economic state.  This does not mean that they won’t eventually be able to put funds into the budget for the addition of the bus stop, it just means that it is not likely to happen in the current fiscal year.

The condo association will need to continue to discuss this issue with the town and keep looking for alternative methods to get the objective accomplished.  Another option for the funds is for the community and the town to work our some sort of arrangement where they split or divide the costs for the bus stop.  What this means for the town is that the condo association will have to appropriate the necessary funds and the town has to do the same.  There is no guarantee that this is possible, at least not until an idea like this is brought to the discussion table.

The bottom line on this issue is that unless the Riverside Court condo association has the available funds to pay for all the associated costs, a school bus stop is not going to be added to the community within this fiscal year.
